[TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATION] Celebrating the Google Doodle!

Who among us has not spent way too much time noodling with a Google Doodle?

These special, temporary alterations of the Google logo are often used to celebrate holidays, people, achievements, and events. Sometimes they are just a whole lot of fun, too!

Did you know that the first Google Doodle was created in honor of the Burning Man Festival of 1998, and was designed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed?

Since then, Doodles have been organized and published by a team of Google employees termed “Doodlers.”

Now let’s have some fun! Check out this archive of past Google Doodles.
